Incense and Air fresheners. Bad for balls?

I enjoy burning incense and using air fresheners to keep my room smelling lovely. The ball just got moved into my room and I have been reluctant to use these since I have heard changes in smell can stress them out. I also heard that air fresheners from a spray can have thing in them that are harmful to birds and snakes and such. Probably a stupid question but better safe than sorry right.

    So, good or bad?
I keep mine in a tank with most the screen lid covered with tin foil if that helps.

Re: Incense and Air fresheners. Bad for balls?

We keep our house perfume and incense free. It can kill some birds and I'm sure it can't be good for the other critters. If we have odors in the house we put a fan in the window pushing the stale air out. That does so much to freshen the rooms. Just like people with allergies, the cleaner your place is the safer for everyone involved. We have been perfume free for so long I now know the distress it can cause animals. If a woman with perfume stands next to me I have to run for fresh air. I guess I have made myself ultra sensitive to it, but it makes me more aware of what discomfort it can cause my animals. It isn't possible for them to run for fresh air so we must make sure it's available for them.

My rule of thumb: If its not natural, its not healthy. Better safe right?
