PLEASE correct me if I am wrong but...

Pythons DO NOT use heat rocks right/ someone on furcadia (rpg i play)said this

[1:52:13 PM] Bendilin: I'm not talking about the rocks you plug in.
[1:52:35 PM] Jeri|Michelle: iknow what kind your talking about and i seen what they do to pythons

ive seen heat rocks burn these fellows and i know better

am i right or is there a rock you can use? Ive never heard of one. And until i have 15 people or more saying they are ok, that OWN pythons, I refuse to put one in. Ive seen burns on snakes its awful

IMO the only thing a hot/heat rock is good for is a paper weight.

There are better paperweights out there; my coworker has one with a cool huge spider in acrylic!

Well what rock is this person talking about if it's not "one you plug in"? I'm a bit confused but agree that the only good heat rock is one that's had it's wiring removed and simply used as cage decor. I've rehabbed a 6 foot plus boa that had a belly injury from a stupid, huge heat rock.

Re: PLEASE correct me if I am wrong but...

Your friend says it's not one you plug in....so maybe he has a flat (or flatish) rock underneath a heat lamp. The lamp warms the rock for basking like the sun might warm a rock in nature. That would be alright so long as you monitor your overall temps.
