    shed question

ok so about 3 days ago my ball was definitely in shed. blueish, dull color, glazed over eyes, the works. So today I open the cage to check on her and her eyes are back to their normal black, and she's shiney agian but I cant find the skin. I pulled EVERYTHING out and dug through ALL the bedding. It's like the shed never happened. Or was aborted. I dont get it...

    Re: shed question

sheds don't happen in 5 minutes... that and they lose the blue right before the shed, so your shed hasn't happened yet. if you have your conditions right then it should happen on its own

by "they lose the blue right before the shed" you're saying that they look fine and THEN they shed? What, like, the next day? She shed with me once before but I basically left her alone during that time. This is the first time I've been really paying attention to whats going on. It just struck me as strange.

    Re: shed question

give her a day or 2. That always happens...they go blue, dull, back to normal, then they shed

    yeah what he said
shed time will fluctuate so it's hard to say whether it will be a day or not, but it shouldn't be long once they clear up.

...Right after I posted this I picked her up and she started rubbing her face on my shoulder. I set her down and she just shed. That was quick. -lol-

    Re: shed question

That's good, what I was going to say was basically what they said just a little more, after the eyes go blue for a few days, they go back to normal and then normally within another 2 or 3 days they shed, although I do have one male, who goes blue, then the blue goes away, and it takes him about a month to shed, even though his conditions are perfect. **shrugs** He's an oddball though. Whenever I have him out and around my neck, he always tries to go in my mouth.

I'm a little put off by the fact that my snake was trying to rub her dead skin all over me. XD.

    Re: shed question

Basically everything you need to know about the shed process....

As yes it's completely normal that they will appear to have not shed, then shed about 24-48 hours after that return to a "normal" appearance. Sounds like your snake is right on track.

    Re: shed question

I wonder when ours will shed? She hasn't eaten for 3 weeks and she's new so we've kind of been leaving her alone, but last night she was out and about and ONE eye is cloudy and the skin around her mouth looks a little "crinkly". So I wonder if she's just coming into shed or just about to shed? Hmmm. Any way to tell? I did increase humidity.
