    Camera troubles... This sucks

My camera broke and I have 2 options. Wait 29 more days for the manufacturers warranty to be up and stake it in store and get a $239 credit or send it in and wait 5-6 weeks for it to be fixed and returned. I'm choosing to wait a month and get the instore credit so I can get the next model up for a few dollars(Like $4 I think) more. Just wanted to rant about it and clear my head. Let me know what you would do and why. Or if theres any other cameras that you like in the $200-250 range that is good for Macro

    This is the new one

I would wait the 29 days too. I am looking for a new camera, something smaller than my canon eos, kinda hard to take two kids a dog, that camera, lenses and all the fun stuff to the park lol.

I narrowed it down to a few. I really like the Canon A630, and the Fuji finepix s700. I tried that one out in the store yesterday and HOLY COW. That camera is awesome. I think I may go with it, it has macro and super macro mode too, plus 10x optical zoom. Even in the store with poor lighting it took some outstanding pictures. Its only about $229. Also you can go to

www.dpreviews.com and on the left side you can choose which manufacturer and read customer reviews of the cameras that are available. I find that site really helpful.

Thanks. I could probably go up a bit in price. My real passion in photography is animal and plants.

I actually wanted to try and stick with sony if I can. I just spent a good deal of money on a new memory stick as well as a new reader for the memory stick.

Sorry about the link try www.dpreview.com

Thats kind of the way I felt wanting to stick with canon, I have always had canon. The reason I was sold on the finepix s700 was the fact that it uses sd and xd cards. Since I am still shopping around, how are Sony cameras? I have a camcorder by Sony that I love, but never used the digi cams.

I feel sony is a great brand for cameras and you get a great camera for what you pay for. I don't do much other than Macro shots. Not sure how it works on moving targets
Heres some of my favorite macro shot which were all taken WITHOUT a tripod

Wow those are good shots. Love the spider. Reminds me of a HUGE wolfspider my husband caught a pick of in Honduras. Even though he still has yet to get me picks of any boas down there I will have to look at the sony cameras, too bad you can't take a few cameras home for a week try them out and then decide lol.
