Was this the right thing to do.

Of my 3 new females that I purchased from Will, the smallest has had its first meal, the largest entered shed the first week with me and has not fed, and the middle girl has not eaten the two weeks she was offered.

When I handle her during cleaning and what not she is fine not too nervous, but as soon as I put her back into her tub the second she spots the hide she bolts in like I bit her tail or something. She's around 830g and I was keeping her in 31qt tub. I had extra 15qt tubs so I was able to fit one hide and water bowl in there. Do you think this is the right move? I hope to get her eating and established in this 15qt tub and then move her up again into a 31qt; is this a good plan?

It often helps to move a snake to a smaller tub assuming that your husbandry is spot on. I have gotten animals eating that way. They feel more comfortable crammed in to a smaller space.

Sounds just fine to me. I have an '05 girl in a 15qt because she won't eat if she's in anything bigger. She's finally up to two mice a week, the little snot I love her anyway, even if she is stealing my soul...

Having only been with you for a week or two I would have waited to change her enclosure. Some take longer than a week to get acclimated to their new digs. At 830 gram a 32 quart should be fine if everything else is right on. I have snakes half her size is 32qt tubs and they eat like champs.

My pastel does fine in the 31qt and last time I weighed him he was in the 400-500g range. This girl seems very very shy, I've never had one of my snakes be fine while being held but then absolutely freak out once they're in the tub. Maybe I should have waited a week more but I felt she was really insecure and could maybe usue a smaller enclosure. I wasn't sure if a 15qt might have been too small. Tonight is feed night I think I'll leave a weaned rat in there overnight and see if she takes it off the floor.
