    Random dead mice?

I just bought 3 feeder mice from the pet store about 30 minutes ago and when I opened the box at home 2 mice were dead and one is breathing but not moving, doesn't look too promising.

Has anyone ever had this happen? No idea. Do pet stores typically do refunds or anything? I took a pic right when I got home on my phone.

I've bought mice from this store before with no issues

Was it hot in your car on the drive back home? Where they in the sun?

I've had feeders "over heat" and die on me from being in my hot car or being hit by sun on the way home.

Yup, I've had that happen to me too. I like bringing my own carrier for them and putting them on the floor in the car out of the sun. It doesn't take long to overheat such a little body.

    Re: Random dead mice?

It's pretty warm since it's florida, but I always bring them back in my car in the box they put them in. It's a 30 mile drive on the interstate and I have my windows down so there is plenty of airflow.

I called the pet store and they said they would take them back. Weird

A lot of those petstores will pack them up in a little cardboard pet carrier that was probably too small for 3. Thats why it's a good idea to get your own carrier. Better air flow and more room.

They did stuff them all in a little box. I'll bring my own carrier thing next time.

    Thanks
