I wronte these myself!

-You spend 8 months out of the year fighting ice and snow; 3 months slogging through mud; and 1 month working for free because that's basically what the state takes out of your pay for taxes each year..

-Six feet of snow fell, and yet people are still PACKING local malls, movie theatres, etc.. you can't even get a table at Mighty Taco.

-You live in Buffalo, pay a mortgage on a modest home, work 60 hours a week and drive a '98 Toyota Camry. Your neighbors are on public assistance, have foutreen kids, and drive two Cadillac Escalades. And your rich friend is their landlord, and spends time counting their government-given rent vouchers on his private yacht for fun.

-Your tax refund check for state, was just enough to buy a can of goldfish food (the cheap stuff; NOT the Hikari!)

-Your car's colors could be defined as half blue, half rust. It is supposed to be completely blue and not full of holes big enough to stick your foot out of.

-On the fourth of july, you are not sure if that was a firecracker or the neighborhood gang of kids doing target practice again.

-The first of the month not only happens to be the biggest shopping day of the month, but also coincidentally it is when they hand out welfare and food stamps..

Those things defined Buffalo.. These are more appropriate for my neck of the woods!...

-You own one car, three tractors (one runs..) five dirtbikes (two run, one starts and sputters), and fifteen cats.

-During hunting season, these things regularly are strewn around your house and have to be stepped over: muddy/wet boots. Gun cases. Sleeping cousins and uncles. Snoring sleeping cousins and uncles. Uncles that fart a lot. Beer cans in various states of emptiness.. assault rifles.

-You measure wealth not in dollars, but in acreage!

-You buy livestock feed before you budget in your grocery bills for the week.

-You ignore the weather man and look to the sky instead, to find out the weather, and you are more accurate!

The worst thing that happens all week is your neighbor's cow wandering around and blocking your signal on satellite TV so that you can't watch the Sabres playoff game!

-Your friends regularly have baby animals (horses, birds, a pig, cow, emu) being hand-raised inside of their farmhouses.

-You hit a deer and instead of speeding off, you either admire its antlers, or haul it onto your truck's flatbed and eat some for dinner; or BOTH!

-You smell like manure when you enter the town eatery, and no one cares. A couple walks in conservatively dressed, with a briefcase, and eyebrows raise. Another couple wanders in with 6 kids, two of them toting baby goats, and again no one raises a brow.

-Your friend enjoys mucking out ripe horse stalls in bare feet!! And you're still their friend..

It is great.. Buffalo is not my cup of tea, but I feel at home out here.. I guess I can be just as cantankerous and stubborn as this weather is!
