Do any of you use seperate heat pads for both cool/hot sides?

Just curious seeing I have the hot side hide sitting between 92-95 under the substrate yet I need to heat my house to like 78 to get the cool side to 75-80. I was thinking of maybe running another thermostat/pad for the cool side and was curious if this is a normal thing to encounter.

Don't kill yourself on the electric bill just to heat it up, when you could buy a new heatpad/ stripe of flexiwatt! I have 2 heat pads for my ball.

Thanks Stangs, I was thinking the same thing. I figure another thermostat/pad will be allot less expensive than the damn oil i'm buring to heat the house.

I am one of the people with a herp room heated at 80 degrees year long so I don't do it however it is possible, all you need is 2 heat pads or two pieces of flexwatt heat tape and 2 thermostats.

Yes, it's very normal. Many people will use a space heater if they have a large number of snakes in a small room, but another UTH would work just fine as Justin mentioned.

If the room temps stay relatively stable, you can place an 11" strip of Flexwatt under the cool side and hook it up to a rheostat. You may even be able to connect it to the same thermostat as the 3" and 4" Flexwatts will run warmer with the same current.

I am going to go pick up another stat/pad tomorrow so everythings perfect when I bring the new man home. I will be sure to take some pictures when he's all settles in. Right now the hot side is 94 but the cool sits around 73. I was thinking of insulating the enclosure but I am going to take the route previously mentioned.
