Thumbs down I NEED HELP. please.

    Alright guys.
i have a younger ball python.
the snake was feeding fine for some time until his shed. his shed sequence this time seemed to take a while, his skin was a blueish tint for a while and yeah he finally finished shedding and he looks okay. the problem was that i had to switch his encloser before his shed was complete. so initially after his shed i figured that my snake needs to be offered some food. he showed no interest to the mouse at all and really shy'd away from it. so i thought to myself , okay maybe its just that time (he's not ready to eat, stressed because of shedding/new tank) so as days go by still no eating. now i then looked into heat issues. i didn't think he was warm enough in this new encloser so i ended up buying a bigger daytime light and a UTH (exoterra). now since the temps and humidity is up higher, the snake moves around from his hiding alot more. So i figured i would give the snake some time before i would offer him food so he could adjust to the temps first. Now that i offer him food he seems really interested, seems like he wants to eat but when it comes to him taking his strike and coil on the mouse , he misses EVERYTIME. I am really worried about my snake. it has probably been like 4-6 weeks without him eating. i also notice now that one of his eye caps looks as if theres a little piece of skin or something (really dry) on his right hand eye.

please give me some help someone. i am really worried about my snake.

What are the temps, humidity of this new tank and how long were you waiting between offerings?

Ditto to above and what size tank, number of hides, and how have you offered food F/T, P/K, live?

Ok humidity is good maybe even alittle high. 85 is ok for cool side but hot side needs to be 90-95 on the ground. How young of a snake are we talking 1 year or 3 months

Your temps should be 90-95 hot side and 80-85 cool side. This will help with any future sheds. Your humidity seems fine. If the stuck eyecap is affecting his eating then there are ways to get it off but as I am not experienced I will let someone who is more suitable to answer this do so.

The tank is like a wide style vivarium (why i bought the stronger light) because it has about 24 inches of height to it. he has been offered stunned live mice the whole time. and has one hide cave(hot spot). he spends most of his time in his hide. especially before i added more heat.

    Re: I NEED HELP. please.

BP do go off feed and it can be for various reasons such as overfeeding, breeding, husbandry, illness, stress, etc

How big is your BP and how big is the new enclosure?

i didn't think he was warm enough in this new encloser so i ended up buying a bigger daytime light and a UTH (exoterra).

Sounds like guessing to me which you can't do, you MUST KNOW your temps and humidity level and the one of the accurate way to do it a digital thermometer/hydrometer like this one that you can purchased at Walmart. (Dial and stick are not accurate)

Once you have the proper measure make sure you have 80-84 on the cool side, 90-94 on the warm side, and 50%-60% humidity.

How big are your hides and what kind are they?

Any detail will help narow it down.

Two hides would help keep him eating by keeping him less stressed. An active snake is a stressed snake in most cases. It seems he wants to thermoregulate but cant because he would be insecure without a hide. You could try different food (live, F/T) to better your chances of him eating.
