    live plants?

in another thread i posted some pics of my set up but i started thinking is there any concequences with using live plants besides the fact they are a pain in the you know what but it wouldnt hurt anything would it the way i see it is there arent plastic plants and rocks in the wild and they get buy just fine.

the plant in the bottom right is knocked over skyler like to be domineering over that plant i put it up and she comes right out and knocks it over and the plant on the bottom left she coils around or jus lays on lol. poor plants.

    Re: live plants?

I wanted to put live plants in my tank, too, start up a terrarium. But I read in several books that bp's tend to trample most live plants, so you are better off using fake stuff if you want some foliage accents. Then again, this is only what I read, there may be some others with experience in this area, or even had success with hearty plants.

Also, you may want to check up with what the plant does (does it pollenate encourage other growths like fungus, etc.) that may effect your pythons health. From what I gather, fake plants just seems to be the way to go.

    Re: live plants?

I have seen plants for reptiles, i purhased a couple for y snake and geckos, geckos like it, they climb, lick water off of it, though it is a pain to keep alive, but does help with the humidity, the snake nocked it over and got the water all over, so i shoved it in the corner, but first i cut the buttom of a water bottle off and put the plants in there because they came with little with holes in it, so the water bottles held the plants up better, and held water for the plants, for the snake i dunno, one little plant, he will prob nock it over if its not secure and might make a mess, but the reptile plants dont coe with dirt or anything, its a spongy material which holds water well. ill get pics soon
