Does anyone have pictures or decriptions of feeders?

I see the terms rat pup, hopper, weanling, pinkie (know that one) etc. and I am not sure what size they are or what they look like. I would like to know what my options are.

FYI my small bp eats f/t small Arctic mice weekly for now, because that is what I got when I got him.

I think Rodentpro has one of the best pages that show the different sizes. Here's the rat page, but they also have one for mice.

    Those are good references

I'm a firsttime BP keeper, in fact I just fed a small rat to my new BP.

Re: Does anyone have pictures or decriptions of feeders?

Here's some pics from my rat colony with descriptions:

    Rat Pink:

from birth to about 8 to 9 days of age....no fur, eyes closed, ears flat to skull...completely dependent on the mother rat for all it's nutritional needs...

    Rat Fuzzy (or Crawler):

from about 8 to 9 days of age to about 14 or 15 days of age....pelt has come in and is very tight to the body and satin looking....ears are still closed, ears are still flat to the skull...nurses exclusively at this stage of development....

    Rat Pup:

from about 14 or 15 days of age until weaning anywhere from 3.5 weeks to 5 weeks of age....fur is fully in, eyes are open, ears are full erect...still nursing but at about 20 days of age will start trying the mother's water bottle and dry food mix...(sorry about lack of good pup pics...they will NOT stay still at this age LOL)...

    Rat Weanling:

stage immediately after it leaves it's mother....now able to exist on regular rat food and water and has no further need of it's mother's milk....my weans are fairly good sized as I don't wean until 4.5 to 5 weeks of age...

Within each stage of development, however, there are huge growth jumps from the start of a stage to the end of that stage.

    Hope this helps.
