Dish-Washer???

Hey all! I currently walk each water bowl to the sink to wash/clean... then put it back in the original tub... Here's my question... If I were to collect them and run them in the Dish-Washer, would this be safe? Re: soap residue, etc...? I've done this with my bird dished for YEARS with no bad effect....
I thinking that with a good detergent, and the STEAM option on... that this would be a good way to thoroughly clean/sanitise them.... Just pondering..

if we can eat off it then i dont see why snakes can't. I wash mine every 2 weeks in the dishwasher and I know Matt Fisher washed his in the dishwasher.

i switched to ceramic bowls so im gonna start washing them in the dishwasher.

if you use clay pot bottoms then maybe you should't try it but if you do let me know how it turns out...

Thanks! Just wanted conformation... They are a mix between plastic, ceramic, and deli cups.... hahaha! It would really cut down on time...

I'd avoid adding in that stuff for keeping your glass spotfree (can't think of it but you add it in the little dispenser in the door). It might leave some sort of residue but other than that with the sanitize/steam option I would think it would be fine.

I use the Sani-wash cycle on my bowls. Like others have said if it is okay for me to eat off of, it should be good for the snakes.

I just dump the water in with the aspen in the garbage spray the bowl with my clorehexidine(sp) water cleaner, wipe out the bowl refill and

I use disposable plastic deli cups for water . I either wash the PVC couplers that hold them in a bleach solution or I spray them with Nolvasan and wipe them clean.

I am with Jamie...disposables are the way to go..guaranteed to be sanitary (just toss them and go).

OK....Thanks! That gave me some more ideas!

I might go to all Deli cups.... BUT... If I went with all ceramic or like plastic and ran them in the D washer... would it be safe to say that I could distribute them to whomever? I think as stated... they should be sterile-ish???
