    thinking.. where to go next.

Well, in the next two weeks I will have two vacant spaces on the rack. I have sold my normal male to my friend, where he will have a great home and where I can still see him pretty often and make sure he's cared for properly though I know he will be. Jarrod has been looking for a BP for awhile now, and it is just a perfect match really. And my het ghost, I also found a new home for him since I have decided not to go into that direction with my breeding prospects, and he was not a snake that I felt a strong bond with..
So, with the tub atop the rack, and one inside of it, that will leave me with two vacant spots. I have the male pastel and spider, and three normie females of my own (two breeding, one an '06.), along with one I am breeding for a friend.. I am thinking of where I should go. My eventual goal is to produce bees, and I already have the makings for that. I also want super pastels, and am on the road towards them too.. but ya know, I can't stand having vacant rack space!
I even toyed with the idea of getting a Blood, or an Angolan.. I love the fat, huge Bloods, and the looks of Angols; they are just stunning snakes. I have an acquaintence who is giving up some of their BPs, and I am interested in her female, but have not gotten a reply yet.. I was thinking of just getting two normal girls and raising them up for future breeders, since they would be helpful no matter where my eventual morph goals lead me..
But part of me wants to get a female morph. I was looking into mojaves, since I love their looks and what the super form looks like.. they are tad on the pricey side for me at this point though, what with needing a vehicle for myself. What would you do? I know, it is ultilatemy my decision, but I am just shooting for advice and maybe a thought or two that I haven't thought of regarding this.. I am really not interested in hets. My other thought maybe, was getting an '05-06 female pastel to get a jumpstart on bees, since the clutches I have for this year hopefully, will be three; 2 are normal x pastel, one normal x normal, and it will take a while to raise any holdback girls up, if the BP gods/goddesses do bless us with babies this year..

You sort of have boxed yourself in on options since you only want visible morphs. What I would do (and I am sure you will get lots of ideas ) would be to get a killer lemon pastel female (got to love all the pics that have been posted in the past couple of days ) and a yellow belly female. This would give you the Super Pastel you wanted and yellow belly is key to so many new things and could still provide you with a white snake down the road.

In the end I am sure you know it all depends on what you want to do down the road with your breeding projects so good luck.

A nice lemony female would be great.. the price could also get up there to be equivelant to a mojave too.. argh
Then I could even get into albinos, really; buy a male visible and female het.. see, with limited funds and space, this is where it gets confusing

I agree with you...in your situation you should really consider HET's then you could get more for your money (and your car ). I would go for Pieds or Carmels...my 2 favorites if you decided to go for HET's.

I agree with Sean. Get a couple het females for your favorite recessive morph. Then, later on, you may choose to pick up a visual male or even a het male...or just breed them to your spider or pastel. They might even pay for the visual male.

    Jen,
I don't know what your budget is, but my suggestion, that is not too pricey, and I tghink would go in the direction you are heading is Yellow Belly female. You can make Ivorys with her down the road, and maybe if you were interested a Pastel YB (they are awsome, believe me). And lastly YB females are slightly less than Mojave females. Just a thought. If you want to talk about it, give me a call, or PM me.

    Sincerely,

Youve got a male spider, male pastell and three norm females.. now your looking into another visual morph. I would pick up something to speed up progress on something your already doing, get a pastel female, find a cheap one (ugly) from a reputable breeder, and get a jump start on super pastels, then bees, then maybe after you sell some of your stock, geta pinstripe for lemon blasts, stick with pastel combos for a while, everything looks better in pastel. just my .02

Why ever give up and accept 2nd best? Get some bright lemons or hot orange jungles and make a beauty.
