    rat/snake

so i know snakes "taste" the air. i was just wondering and im pretty sure its no. but do most of the breeders house snakes and rats/mice in same room? im thinking no but just wanted to see. i figured it would make them more agressive seeing how they would taste rat/mice 24/7. thanks.

    Re: rat/snake

My rat breeders are about 4 feet away from my rack. I don't notice any aggression out of my snakes. They know when feeding day is and when it's not, because I keep them on a routine.

I'm about the same as Robin. I house 6 rats and any babies in the same room, and have never noticed any aggression in the snakes over the last 6 months.

    Re: rat/snake

My rat racks have always been near my snake racks and I never have any aggression problems. In fact, I have yet to be bitten at my house. All bites that I have received were away from home with snakes that never have seen the inside of my house.
    lots of snakes

I don't raise my own ice or rats, but my ball's tank is right next to teh fishtank. sometimes he comes out and just watches them..never seen him strike at the tank wall or anything. it's really kinda cute.

Some people think that by housing the snakes and food in the same room, they are better eaters. Though I have not noticed a change between ones housed near rodents and ones not near rodents, this could still be a valid theory.
