Just remember it is the vibration NOT the sound. So you need to move it outside or to another floor. The vibration will travel through the floor boards and still stress them out even if the cannot "hear" the music.

Yes, but unless you're REALLY jamming out, the vibration probably won't travel that far... for guitars anyway. Bass is probably another story.
