What kind of substrate is that? And how big is the container it is in? You really shouldn't use bark as a substrate, use organic potting soil, peat moss, bed a beast, anything that is small and soft. I'm not trying to be mean I'm trying to help. I have 50 tarantulas and have been in the hobby for almost 2 years. Your little sling needs to be in a small enclosure. Tarantulas find their food by vibration and it the housing is to big, it won't find its food.
You have a lovely little one there, just be warned, rosehairs grow VERY slowly. I have a rosehair sling that is 3 1/2 years old and hasn't reached the two inch mark yet.
Oh, and keep it dry, rosies hate moist substrate.
What a cutie! First one? If not be very, very carefull. They are more addicting than crack.
Mina is right about the whole substrate thing though....
Good luck with the little bugger!
