    Question Weight question

I have been seeing some snakes for sale that are 05 babies that around 300, to 400 gr. my little girl Angel is an 06 and she is already 352 gr. is that a normal weight? She eats 1 very large adult mouse every sunday. should I put her on standard sized adult mice again? I dont want to over feed her.

    thanks

    Re: Weight question

I think that is a fine weight. Mine is an 06 and is at 406 grams. But I will let someone with more expierence answer that!

Don't judge age by weight. Tim Bailey mentioned he has some 06's reaching 900+ g and 05's that are at 500 g. Weight is never typical with these snakes. As long as they are shaped nicely and not triangular you are fine.

    Re: Weight question

Yep, in my case I have two '05 females. One is a ferocious eater and is over 1200g(could be bigger I'm sure), and the other is around 450g? I think. The second girl is very shy and will only eat one mouse per week.

My '06 babies range from 200g-700g. One August 2006 boy(my Lemon pastel) is almost 700g and a fatty. Hasn't missed a meal yet.

    Re: Weight question

My 06 is only 135g he eats a small mouse every week according to the pet store he originally came from and the guy I got him from, and so far for me but he's puny. The vet said she wasn't concerned about his overall health Friday though.

As long as you feed a proper size prey once a week there is nothing to worry about.

BP growth rate varies from one to another, and what matter is that your BP is healthy and as a good body weight.

I have an 06 that hatched in may that is 364 grams and one that hatched in august that is 664 grams, they both came in my collection in the same time (back in september) and both are fed an appropriate size prey once a week.

    Re: Weight question

for a 2005 hatch, i think 300-400 grams is a little on the small side. maybe they were runts or slow/picky feeders?

    Re: Weight question

she is more fat around then long... I think she might have a groth spert here really soon. if she didnt just eat I would take a photo, but befor I fed her she looked like a miniture gravid female. now she looks like a gravid female that ate a jumbo rat. she is still showing signs of hunting, and she ate a large mouse about 5 hours ago. she i paseing back and forth as I type this... goofy girl.

Well It is good to know that weight is not everything (in a way) and she is just a little fatty lol.

    Re: Weight question

I have a late 06' male at 400g and an early 06 female at 630g. The first one eats a rat pup every week. The other eats a mouse every week. But they are growing just fine...

And my 05 female is at 1,200.

My spider was born 11-15-06 and he is tapping 315 before his feed this week. And I have a picky 05 hetpied that has yet to break the 800 mark :|
