Thermometer confusion
I have question, On the hot side of my viv. I have Accu-temp probe thermometer it's been reading 92 to 93. I thought this was great. Then, I went and bought a temp-gun to see how accurate my temps are. Now this just confused and frustrated me. The temp-gun read that the surface of the viv was 115 degress. I do have the UTH on thermostat. My question is; is this normal or ok. The air temp is great 92- 93, but I worried about burns. Which thermometer do I trust
Thanks,
Scott

NO it not ok. your probe should be measuring the temp where the snake comes in contact with the heat a.k.a the surface of the substrate. If its not get that UTH on a thermostat and put that probe for the thermostat right of the UTH or on the surface of the substrate..
hope this helped

That's Freaky Frog, I didn't think it was right. Do you think Velcro would work to hold thermometer and t-stat probes to the surface?

I'd avoid putting any thing with adhesive in the tank with your snake. They have an acute ability to find that crap and get tangled in it. I'd just put the thermostat probe on the surface under one of it hides to weight it down. Same with the thermometer probe.
