    When will he come out

about 3 days ago my little guy started to blue and refusing food so i figure hes going to shed soon but i wasnt ready for what he did next. He seemed uninterested in his regular hides and found a new place to hide inside a plastic topfin log fixture that he likes to climb. On the under side is a couple of openings that i didnt even notice were their and because hes in a shed he seems to be content to stay in their and has been in it for a day now. Does anyone have a guess as to how long he might stay hidding because the space is supper tight and cramped and i will never be able to get him out.

Re: When will he come out

If he really is in Shed, expect him to stay in there for some time. My two BP's were in shed a couple of weeks ago and stayed in their hides the whole time, about 10 days. Once they shed, they were back to their usual selves and everything was cool. So, dont get worried if he doesnt come out for a a week or more.

Yeah, i have a very small log that has an opening in it, so you can go inside it, and it's extremely cramped in there, but my guy just loves it in there. It wasn't even one of his hides, but when he started shedding, and it was a rough one, he was in there for about almost 3 weeks. He's probably not going anywhere, and i wouldn't worry about it.

well he finally started his shed last night and when i got up this morning i was able to pull it out. It came out in 3 parts but looks complete; and i found the eye caps too. i wont really know until i get to see him. I did notice a little red around what looks like closer to the tail not sure if its a little blood or anything to be worried about.

Nothing to be worried about. Snakes usually bleed a little around their cloaca when they shed.

hmm i've been reading about the cloaca bleeding this morning and suspect just that but i'll have to wait till he emerges from his hide to examine him .. I also want to schedual a visit to the vet to get his general health checked out seeing as i've not taking him since i picked him up from the reptile expo back in Feb.
Its a 25min drive but hes been recomended by a few friends.
