    On the Lam!!!

So slithers, the first ball python I've ever owned and my baby became the first snake I've had to escape!! Well, sort of. I had a friend over and he wanted to see my snakes, so I was pulling the ball python and red tails out to let him see, and while we had slithers out (last) the phone rang, I took the call and went in the other room. Well aparently while I was on the phone, my friend put slithers back in her cage, BUT did not put the lid on right! He came out and said everything was set and we left for dinner. When we got back, he left and I go in to see the lid ajar!! I quickly searched and couldn't find her! I was horrified, my poor baby was out and had no heat or water! Not to mention, the dogs had to be on lock down for those two days because god forbid one of them find the snake and think it was a chew toy! So after searching all the far off corners of the house looking for her, yesterday I went to change the sheets on the bed, right there, at the head of the bed, between our matress and the wall is slithers.

Guess she's getting jealous that we're getting more and more snakes and she wants to be the favorite and sleep with me and my wife the way the puppies do

She's safe back in her cage now, trying to find her way out the same way she did before and looking at me like, come on give me a little help!

Just thought I'd share my story with ya

Glad she didn't get to far. Not everyone is as lucky as you are for being able to find their snake again. Glad this was one of the happy kind of stories.

    Re: On the Lam!!!

Yeah, I was terrified I wouldn't find her or that the dogs would get ahold of her. We have a shiba inu and a st Bernard. The st Bernard was kept int he kitchen with a baby gate for those 2 days and the shiba was kept in her kennel when we couldn't be with her, and in the kitchen when we were there in the kitchen/dining room/living room. I was so worried slithers might wander into the kitchen and they would get ahold of her. Of all my snakes, she's my baby because she was my first and what made me decide I want to breed. She's got the best personality of all of my snakes (i know some ppl dont believe they have personalities but I do) She's just so cool, I'm glad she's safe and sound again

    Re: On the Lam!!!

    on the lam

moving from place to place to avoid being found or caught

on the lam (mainly American, informal) running away from the police or someone in authority in order to escape going to prison.

If someone robs and bank and is running from the cops they're considered "On the Lam" (although most people believe it's "On the Lamb") which means something completly different. :-D
