    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg7Jg9ZeCyE&NR

i have talked to many people that buy there rats from the same place i do. there are a few that will buy a huge meal for there snake and only feed them about once every 4-5 weeks. i have tried to tell them that a good sized meal ever 7 days is ideal but they alloways say i have had this snake for 5 years and it is fine. wich is true if it is working for them then so be it. just dont ask me to condone it.

Way too big when feeding a BP you want to feed a prey slightly smaller than the girth size (Widest part of the BP's body) once a week.

And for an adult you do not need to feed anything bigger than a small rat (4 weeks old) once a week.

I wouldn't use that video as a good example for keeping your snake... The snake looked skinny IMO, the owner doesn't know a mouse from a rat, and there were no hides... Looked like the mouse definately got a good bite or two in.

I take the hides and logs out when I feed mine cause it gives him more room. That video just really concerned me and thought I would see your all's input on it to see if it all agreed with my original thoughts.

I don't ever remove hides - it leaves the snakes feeling too exposed and more likely to refuse a meal. All of mine prefer to ambush their prey from the security of their hides. I know that several of mine would refuse if I removed that security from them.
