Re: what exactly is a butter???
A butter is not related to a lesser at all. The difference between butter and lesser is that the butter gains yellow as it ages, whereas the yellow in the lesser decreases as it gets older. Butter is a dominant trait, whereas lesser is co-dominant.

Why is Butter dominant and not incomplete dominant? When two butters are bred together, you get Leucistics.

I have seen them for around $2500 - $3000 lately....No one can predict the future....no one will know until the time comes....Once someone predicts the prices, for some reason, the prices HAVE to be that price....Please....Lessers for $2500??? Comon? They were 25k last yr.....

Re: what exactly is a butter???
no co dom trait will hold at those high prices for verry long at all. because they are way to easy to make. all you need is one lesser and 10 normal females and boom you got 10-20 lessers. and that is just from one year of breeding. i saw one on ks about a 3 weeks ago for 1800 shipped.

Matt a good way to think about these co dom breedings is to forget about just reproducing the same morph over and over. instead of making 20 lessers get a spider to breed it to and make lesser bees or just about any other co dom to raise the dollar value of the babies you are producing.

That's a perfect response, like with any morph.... there are a multitude of differtent things you can do. It's all up to the owner and what tingles your taste buds as far as producing eye candy.
Of course, now that you have mentioned these... I want one. Damn!
