    Good Ol George

A few days ago I got a call from my friend asking me if I had gotten my rat CC a friend yet. I told her I hadn't been to a rodent show yet since it's not till March. She then asked me if I'd like to have George. He is a hairless rat that she got for hairless breeding purposes, but come to find out that he was infertile. After finding that out she just housed him with two other females that were retired breeders. George doesn't get along with other male rats so she's just kept him in with two of the other girls she didn't have any more breeding plans for. One of the girls passed away a few months ago and the other passed away the other day. She didn't want him to live by himself, nor does she have any use for him since he can't reproduce so that's why she called me up. Of course I was like "SURE!!!" because George is such a sweetie, is used to living with female rats and well can't reproduce. I went over there and picked him up. Introduced CC and George. She didn't know what to do since she was hand raised and has never seen another rat before. She just wanted to crawl up my sleeve or me to pick her up. George didn't care about her one bit. Gave me a few sniffs then went on to exploring the bathroom floor. Put them together in the tub for a little bit and no fights broke out or anything. So I felt it was safe to put them together in a cleaned out tank. No fights, no nothing. Neither seemed to really want anything to do with the other one. George is about a year old now so hopefully I'll have him around for another year. He's such a sweetie!

    (HEY!!! I'm George)

(CC wondering what in the world is this ugly thing)

(CC looking at me as if she is about to scream HELP ME!)

Oh he's too cute and she's too funny! Not a clue what he is! I'm sure they'll be best of buddies within days. Most rats really like to have a cage buddy so I'm sure they'll sort things out in no time. Really great of you to give George a forever home and CC a nice rattie friend.

I think hairless rats are so precious. I mean, they are too freakin cute! And warm too! They must make up for no fur by making even more heat..

Congrats! I am sure they will have a fun, platonic relationship
