I am back.. with a new member of the family too

Hey everyone, finally got my internet back.

We got everything and everyone moved to the new house. Thanks for all the advice on moving the reptiles. Everything went really smooth and didn't have one problem.

We also got a puppy. She is 4 months old. Sharpei lab mix. We were looking at Boxers, couldn't find anyone that wasn't a back yard breeder, I couldn't bring myself to pay $800 for a Dog when there were so many, many, many dogs at the shelter. So we went and looked and found Zoey, fell in love with her as soon as we saw her. She is the only survivor of eight puppies born at the shelter, she had kennel cough, pneumonia, mange all sorts of problems. Adopted twice before us and brought back twice for some stupid reasons like "they moved into an apartment and couldn't keep her". Anyway here she is.

Glad to see you back and hear the move went well. What a sweet looking dog, looks like your kids are thrilled to have her!

Thanks, they are so happy with her. The three of them play together constantly. Makes for long nap time I have got to get Zoey to quit biting though. She is really playful and get really crazy at times and starts biting. I may have to seriously look into some problem solving/obedience classes.

Re: I am back.. with a new member of the family too

Grab a Halti/Gentle Leader type head collar hon (they also make a chest harness but it's the head halter style collar one we have). They run about $20.00 at any major pet store and I swear they saved our sanity with our puppy, Gunnar. You can keep it on her, put her on a long lead in the house and let her play around. As soon as she tries to play bite just give it a tug and not only will you get her attention, her muzzle with automatically close. Total godsend for us and also makes walking a stubborn, busy and strong dog a dream. They hate them at first but now when Gunnar sees her Gentle Leader halter come out she knows it's time to be good or walk time, she immediately calms down when it's on her face. We got another pup last week and Tank will be getting his own Gentle Leader soon. We have to watch the two pups with our youngest child who is 5. They sort of think of him as another pup so we are very watchful of him and the pups so that nobody gets hurt.
