Taking the pictures is the part that is easy, however the cooperation is lacking. I feel like I could take 100 shots and only get one good.

Wow...they're all so lovely. You need to post more, when your subjects are more willing! I love how the light is reflecting in the eyes--especially the picture of Gizmo!
