    I got a big fridge(incubator)

I finally made my decision and went with a fridge as an incubator. All I have to do now is order 3 to 4 ft of 11 inch flexwatt and a thermostat and I'm rollin. Oh yeah and the little fan too. If anybody has any suggestions or pic's of their own conversion I'd appreciate a look.

Yep, that's what we did. I pitched the idea to my husband and we decided that we'd keep our eye open for a used one. The fridge at hubby's work quit running and they were going to throw it away. So, he brought it home and 1 day later we have our incubator. I couldn't tell you what all he did to it but I have some pics! LOL! I know he wired the freezer portion to be a working outlet. It holds the thermostat and stuff. Good luck with yours!

    Re: I got a big fridge(incubator)

I just finished my wine cooler incubator last night. It has 4 shelves to hold up to 8 clutches. I drilled a hole through the back for the probe and power cord, and wired 3' of 11" flexwatt that runs off a Helix proportional thermostat. It came with a built in fan, and I'm going to hardwire a 2nd small cpu fan into the one it came with. It also has a tempered glass locking door and an LED to view the contents. I'm going to add water bottles full of vegetable oil above the heat tape to hold stable temps, but I ran it all last night and it held at ±0.1°of the set temp (88.9°). I'll get some pictures once everything is finished. It looks nice enough to keep anywhere in the house.
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?

I like the idea of being able to see and set the temp without opening the door all the time very nice. Give me ideas!

Here is my set up. We removed the fan it came with because it cooled it down too much. Now it has a computer fan that blows down(24/7) in front of the heat strip and is controled by a herpstat pro. It works perfect. Have a coke and a smile.
