How much air?

I have 6 x 3/8" holes drilled into my snakes tub. The humidity is perfect, but I am wondering if that is enough air? Do I need to put more holes?

I would keep going to find that sweet spot between air flow and keeping the proper humidity.

It's very important to have good airflow into your enclosures to help prevent mold growth and to wisk away the strong vapors created from urine sitting in the tub ... I use an open air caging system and fans in my snake rooms to help provide my animals with a constant supply of fresh air ... the downside is that I have to humidify my entire facility.

Add a couple holes and check the humidity ... if it drops a little bit, you're there!

(and don't forget, in the summer, humidity will go up, so you might need to add more holes then as well).

Do you have a lidless rack system? You'd be surprised how much air you can get in the tub with as little as an 1/8" gap between the top of the tub and the bottom of the shelf above it.

I have a Boaphile rack system and it is made w/ only .050 ( less than 1/16 of an inch) all way around the top of each tub and the air flow seems good. And they seem to have enough air, no bad smells linger and the humidity stays good.

I didn't think it was enough air at first but it seems to be working out fine.

A lot depends on the room conditions where the tub is at.
