How sad that it involved such young teenagers. We just had a Toledo police officer shot and killed on duty last night (the first in over 35 years) by two young men...19 and 15 (the 15 year old is still at large and seems to have been the shooter). What a waste of an officers life and in both these cases the waste these young men have created of their own lives.

All testosterone aside, my heart goes out to Mike, his family, and Mikes employee who's life was threatened.

Criminal or not, I'm sure that Mike isn't laughing over potentially taking someones life and will have some hard times ahead struggling with the reality of what happened in his shop.

I just seen that on the news, Jo. Thats insane, and right down the street from my Aunts house.

I agree Adam. It isn't going to be easy dealing with this, and was probably one of the hardest decisions he had to make.

If you look at the news video around 1:08, you see the two guys in darker clothing standing in front of the glass that Mike shot out of, while the guy at the register still had his gun drawn and was being handed money from the clerk at the register. As soon as you see the shots fired, the guy at the register turns and runs. The clerk at the register should thank his lucky stars that the robber with the gun reacted by running away, and not pulling the trigger on the clerk.

The reality of it is probably just barely starting to settle in now...situations like that could have gone the other way just as fast.

i have talked to some people who have talked to mike and they say he is happy and proud that he was able to hold his own and protect his employes.

I don't think this is a laughing matter or something that should be taken lightly. I am sure his employee isn't laughing about it and probably won't for a long time. I would bet Mike isn't laughing about it either.
