    feeding question

right im goinhg to order mice today but i feel that the mice im currently feeding him are too small, considering he comes out to look for more a few dayss later and after every feed hes allways looking for more,

should i be feeding him small adult mice now, because im am going to buy 20 today ?

    Re: feeding question

its hard to tell how big he is, because theres nothing in the pic to compare his size to, but the rule is, go no bigger in a prey item than he is wide. so if hes as wide as an adult mouse, buy that. if hes an adult snake feed him 2 mice. he doesnt look skinny, but hes not fat either. how often do you feed?

well i would think it would be ok to graduate to adult, but take something with you to the pet store thats the same size as his fattest part of his body.. like if his biggest part is as big around as a gatorade top, then take it with you and get 20 mice that size. are you getting 20 to freeze or are you going to start breeding mice?

oh i see now you said your going to order 20 mice. im assuming you mean frozen. i would order the minimum quantity. you should know how big adult mice are, and if you dont go look at one at a pet store. better yet go buy one at the pet store and feed it to him if its the right size. then youll be more confident buying adults. mice arent like rats. granted some are bigger than others, but ive seen some pet stores that sell large rats that are half the size as other pet stores large rats

All the info above is excellent- I would add that in my opinion that snake could easily take adult mice.
