What is the best way to heat a tank?

what is the most cost effective way to heat tanks?

    Heat tape? under tank pads?

if heat tape, how do you use it?

what size tank? i personally like flexwatt hooked up with proportional thermostats like a helix. keeps temps very stable and provides shut down protection in case of problems.

heating is not where you would want to go cheap...it is probably the most important part of keeping snakes......the helix runs about 130$ but it is well respected aound the ball community and Rich at reptilebasics.com will hook you up nicely!

helix runs about 130.00 you can get them at

    www.thebeanfarm.com or www.reptilebasics.com

the flexwatt will cost about 10-20.00 and you can get it at the same places.

a ranco is a little less expensive thermostat, around 65-75.00.

what size snake will you be getting?

you could get a 20-30 gallon tanks and section it off for a baby. you might want to look into plastic cages also.
