    Snake Loss

Well, I lost a female ball python. Unfortunately it was Annebelle, my het albino from 8Ball Pythons. She got mouth rot, despite being kept on newspaper. Treating her with a mixture of peroxide didn't work, so she went to the vet. Even with antibiotics the mouth rot got worse, and her face swelled horribly, and today one eye was rupured, so we put her to sleep. She was suffering at this point even with pain medicines(I didn't know you had pain meds for snakes).
Sigh. I really feel bad, and the vet will be necropsieing to see if there were any other issues.

Sorry to hear about that. Take comfort in the fact that she's not suffering anymore.

    Re: Snake Loss

Thanks for the sentiments. I do appriciate that someone in the world knows they are pets, and even though I have over 40, it still hurts to lose one. She was a great snake, and bit me ALL the time. One of my closest friends made a joke that maybe *I* am venomous and she got sick after biting me one too many times. It did make me laugh a bit.
Now I guess I have to figure out how to break it to Adam that I lost one of his babes.
