Eucalyptus branches?
So, I'm a new BP owner, and I ha a question about eucalyptus as habitat decor. I have an old, fire-kiled eucalyptus tree on my property, and wanted to know if it was safe to put a branch or two into the enclosure. Just the wood, the leaves are long gone. It's been dead about 3.5 years, the wood is well cured, and of course I would sanitize and bake it to make sure there are no pests inside. Eucalyptus is obviously known for it's oils, but the vast majority is produced in the leaves, not the wood. So, does, anyone know if it's safe?

Re: Eucalyptus branches?
I know this is really old, sorry. It's the exact question I have. Mine is a large branch that we had to cut about 4 years ago when ice took out the top of the tree. No shavings, not substrate, no leaves. Safe or not?

Re: Eucalyptus branches?
Safe...sure, but for how long? I'm pretty sketchy about putting anything in my cages that can absorb wastes and provide a home for bacteria. Maybe there is a way you can safely seal the wood before putting it in the tank? I had a grape vine in my tank when I first started and it became home to little buggies, I threw it out that same day and never put wood in my tanks again.

Re: Eucalyptus branches?
since my post I did read on the aussiepython board that it's okay. I would of course treat it for bugs with heat. Other woods are the same, if you treat first it's okay, no bugs. Just want to know if anyone can see a specific problem with the eucalyptus.
Anyone else? I don't want to stress my snakie.
