    Heating Question

I've got a question I recently got a Animal Plastics Cage the T5 with belly heat and one 8.5 inch circle in the top. Well the Belly heat isn't working it worked for about 3 days then stopped don't know whats up with that. So now I just use a 100 watt light that heats the cage. Well under the light it gets anywhere from 95-103 which is to high obviously. In the middle it is anywhere from 90-88 and cool side is about 78-81. Don't know how to cool down the warm spot and warm up the cool end.... Going to get a T-stat soon but Don't they just heat one side?

    Thanks

    Mike

    Re: Heating Question

where did you purchase your enclosure from? i would contact them and ask them for some assistance with it.

normally the UTH or flexwatt keeps the entire enclosure at the right temps and if it doesn't then warming the room is a good way to go. personally i use a heating pad on 1/2 of the top (cool side) of my enclosure for my ball. this way his ambient temps stay higher.

as for your pics... i have no suggestions as i use photoshop myself.

    Re: Heating Question

I got it from AnimalPlastics. I've got a few UTH's around here but don't really like using them because all I have is a Light Dimmer to control the heat. But when you say you put it on the top of your cage, do you put it on the inside of the cage? Or on the outside on top of the cage?

Call or email AP, they will send you a replacement cable, they cover them for a year under warranty so it shouldn't be a problem.
