    Places to poop

Is it normal that my BP defecated two times out of two in his colder hide (a Zoomed reptishelter with umid spagnum inside)?
It would be fine for me, unless I have to open the cage and the hide everytime to check if he has gone and clean it, and as I only had him for a couple of weeks, I would prefere not to stress him everyday(I am steel trying to keep my hands off him and handling once a week 3 days after his meal)

If you can just figure a way to quickly pop the hide off and have a peek inside or wait till he exits it naturally it really should be fine and not terribly stressful on him if you don't make a lengthy deal of it. One of our females used to use her warm side hide as a toilet for ages. I'd always know though as she's suddenly slither quickly out of it to the cooler side hide. I don't think she liked her own stink LOL.

So you think that it will be his bathroom from now on?
In this case I will need more sphagnum than aspen

Never mind, yesterday night I found a new present from him just in the middle of the cage.

    Hi,

    Count yourself lucky.

My little house snake has taken to smearing it about 2 inches up the walls for some reason - if I raise the level of the paper it just reaches higher.

This might answer the other thread "What do snakes do for fun?" question
