    Question Eating feet first

My 42" ball keeps eating the rats/mice backwards. Is that ok? I just worry that when I give him large sized rats that he will scrap the inside of his mouth and throat on the rats claws and teeth! My other baby ball always eats head first, so what the hell is wrong with the big one? Is he just stupid, I get so frustrated, have any of you guys encounterd this problem? Any suggestions?

I say bless your lucky stars that he eats so regularly! Some snakes just have to do it the hard way. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Re: Eating feet first

Most folks never feed large or even medium rats to BP's. A nice small rat once per week is usually sufficient for most adults...maybe 2 smalls weekly for the really large females. Some just eat oddly, as long as they get their dinner down and eat with an aggressive feeding response then it's all good.
