Unhappy My Snake won't eat (for the first time ever)

I always thought I had the perfect eater of a snake because ever since I've had my snake, he has always eaten immediately with no problem at all but I just tried feeding him and he is just ignoring the mouse with no interest at all...I already killed the mouse and left it in the tank and I'm going to see if my BP eats the mouse overnight.....I have a feeling its because I JUST switched from a lights setup to a UTH and thermostat setup......and i know that BP's are notorious for not eating during the winter........

Re: My Snake won't eat (for the first time ever)

It is normal for BP's to miss meals. I wouldn't worry unless it goes on for an extended time. I had one that would go a couple months , than eat like crazy for weeks.

I think you are correct.Give him a little time to settle in again and see how things go.

a change could definitely cause him to stop eating for a week... he'll eat again when he's hungry.

Mine stopped eating. I'm gonna get a scale today and monitor his weight. I'm praying that I wont have to force feed. Of course that's an absolute last resort.

Yesterday, you created this thread: http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=40448

Ball pythons tend to lose their appetite when they experience lower temperatures.
