Cage cleaning tip

I don't think I have ever read it here before, and I'm sure some of you use it already, but I've found the perfect solution for cleaning aspen out of crevices, especially tracks for sliding glass doors on cages such as Animal Plastics...its a can of compressed air. The air burst is super powerful and safe as long as you use it correctly and DON'T use it near your animals. Just thought I'd pass this along. Anybody else have any good secrets they'd like to share.

i like to take my tubs outside and just dump em in the garbage

I don't have any of those PVS cages or anything like that, but I know how hard it can be because I have a custom built 37x17x13 H enclosure that I use for my growing boa.

This is the exact method I used to use, until we moved into the new facility with a CentralVac...now I just use the vac to suck out any aspen that gets caught in the tracks.

But the canned air trick works VERY well!

Another tip that cuts down on cleaning time...this is mainly for multi-box rack users...

Get a couple of shower squeegees (i.e. from Wal-Mart, or even better, your local mom-and-pop houseware store), and use them when you're washing snake boxes. After you've disinfected boxes & rinsed them off, squeegee off the extra water - it'll make your dry time minimal. Keep a bucket of diluted Nolvasan to dunk your squeegees in between boxes for ultimate quality control.
