Re: anyone seen an ugly ball?
Hm.. well I've seen some pretty dull dark normals that I didn't care for at all.. not sure I'd say 'ugly', but I have seen some ugly snakes, yes.
That IS an ugly dumerils too.. haha.

I sold Fugly (that was her name) to someone who thought she was the most beautiful boa ever. I thought she was the ugliest one out of them all.
For comparison, look at these 2.
Nice looking fella.

Very pretty little girl.

I think it's cool

Ok, yeah... I've got to go along with Shelby on that one... That is a pretty ugly Dumeril's! I really like the last one!! But to answer the original question, I've never seen an "ugly" snake well I think glass snakes are ugly, but I've seen some I don't really care for the look of. I think the name is glass snake... I'll have to check on that... If anyone knows it looks like a lizard head on a snake body.

You Might Be a Herper if...
You're standing in the pet store checkout line with your purchase in hand & the person behind you says "Oh, they're so cute! Do they make good pets?" and you reply, "These? Hmmm. Actually, I have no idea...I never thought about that..."

Re: anyone seen an ugly ball?
I can't remember for the life of me what they call it but it's that BP that everyone was talking about that had no heat pits and looked like it was missing patches of normal scales. It may have been interesting but for me personally, it was ugly as anything.

that was the "derma ball".

Re: anyone seen an ugly ball?
It's funny how breeders will line breed for one trait and some people will like the "ugly" snakes instead. For example, Bob Clark breeds for high pink colors in Argentine Boas, but my boyfriend likes the colorless ones a lot more, and would probably have liked that Dumerils... hahaha.
Also, I think some of the BP morph combo's can produce a pretty ugly Ball.

Re: anyone seen an ugly ball?
I haven't seen a ugly snake period, there are some that catch my eye and are amazing and some that are great to look at but not nearly as exciting as the others. We all see normal Ball pythons every day, so we see our fair share of very pretty normals and dull and boring ones, but never an ugly one, every imperfection out there, most of the time, enhances the snake's colors, pattern, etc, Right?

I think you're reffering to the legless lizard. If that is the case it really is a lizard without legs. I've heard of legless lizards being referred to as glass snakes. As far as ugly snakes, I've never seen one. Though I definately have my favorites when it comes to appearance.
