    Waiting to Feed

Hey Guys! Sometimes some of my ball pythons take forever to eat. I feed live, so I always sit there and watch it to make sure nothing happens. I was feeding yesterday and one of my snakes was taking forever to eat, so I killed the rat and left it overnight.

How do you guys feed live. I only have 4 bps, and I don't want to sit and watch for an hour for one of them to eat. When you own a bunch of snakes how do you watch all of them to make sure they eat? If they don't show a quick feeding response what do you do?

    Thanks,
    Jordan

I give my crew 15-30 minutes to eat. If they don't slam the rats/mice in that time then they aren't going to eat.

What do you do with the food if it is refused?

It's probably a little different in my case because I have a few more snakes than you, but it depends on what my snake is eating. If it's a F/T eater, I'll give it to another Ball, or if they're all fed I'll give it to my BCI which will eat anything, anytime. If it's a live eater, I'll either put it back in the breeder cage for a week or euathanize it and freeze it.
