care sheet question
just a general question .... on all the care sheets it says to check for a clean vent
what would be causes of an unclean vent?
my snake vent is clean, I was just curious & I can't find anything about it other than to get one with a clean vent but no reasons as to why they might be dirty

Re: care sheet question
Runny stools - signs of possible parasitic infection, adhered or stuck shed in the vent region - just something worth looking at.

plus how else are you going to end up with an eye full of snake p? - try and get a video of it happening too as they make great background loops for the christmas party .

Also nice to share with the extended family whilst sitting around eating pumpkin pie after the big holiday feast! Nothing like a video of your snake making a stink to get your mother-in-law to decide it's time to head for home.
Seriously though, a clean vent is like a clean butt on a puppy or kitten, a dry butt on a rodent, etc. Clean, dry back ends usually mean things are "moving" along fine all and all. It's not the be all and end all of deciding if a snake is healthy, just another thing to watch for.
