    Update

As many of you know i got my first pet rat yesterday, as i got home, i remembered that she needed a friend!! So i ran out today and got one of the rats that was with her, they are quite happy together
Both females, domestic rats, one is gray and white, and one is black and white. I also got them a food dispenser, and a water bottle, because i was going to try bowls, but as soon as i got home there was sooo much bedding in both of the bowls (food and water). I couldn't find any tank clips, but i was with 2 of my guy friends who tend to be be....quite the adventerous...so i was busy trying to make sure they weren't trying to pet fish or something (LOL). The text book on top of their tank will do for now, i will go back tomarrow and get some. The top is one of the reptile lock on kinds, so im not too worried for right now.

It is nice to see them enjoying eachother's company though. They are cool pets

oh, and i took some pictures!

    Re: Update

they look awesome! i wouldn't mind some rats in future!

i would replace that wheel and get a solid one so there are no holes in it. i do believe they can be dangerous to rodents because when they run their little paws can get caught resulting in a broken limb.

EDIT: never mind just read the other thread and SatanicIntention already gave you that bit of advice!

thanks! Oh, and about the wheel, i was told that yesterday, and i removed it yesterday as well. I took those pictures before i got rid of the wheel. In the last picture i think you can see a reflection of it where it is outside of the tank though. lol.

    Re: Update

Next time you have spaghetti for dinner Amy just give them a handful of the cooked noodles (plain no sauce). Rats love pasta (cooked or uncooked) and they will play tug with strands of cooked spaghetti. Very funny stuff! Glad you got a second female as rats just get really down if left by themselves for any length of time, they really are such highly socialized creatures.
