Thermostat probe position?
got a question for ya'll!
I just got my herpstat t-stat in the mail today, and got it all set up and it works wonderfully. Now my question is this: i use newspaper as the liner for my tub setup. Should i use a very thin layer of newspaper and tape the probe directly to the bottom of the tub, and set the temp slightly above 94 degrees to allow for the temperature drop through the paper?
Also, do some of you have 2 thermostats, one for each side of your tub/tank? or just use one UTH that stops right before the cool side?
thanks!

Re: Thermostat probe position?
put that probe under the enclosure. get a digital thermometer and put the thermometer probe on the warm side. Adjust the Tstat according to what the thermometer says. If you set your Tstat to 93,and your thermometer reads 89, then you'd bump the temp up to 95. If the temp then reads 91, bump the Tstat to 96. does that make sense?
you don't want to risk the snake moving the thermostat probe...other wise there's a pretty good chance of burns.
what's your ambient room temps?

The rack in my garage has a piece of 11" flexwatt on the bottom of each tub and keeps the whole tub warm, 92/81 and inside my tank and wooden enclosure are kept in my room with a heater set at 80 so they stay a pretty constant 92/80
As far as the probes go, I would only put like 2 layers on newspaper down and just tape it to the bottom of the tub
