    Arrow Caging I guess...

    Hey all-

I currently have two corn snakes and are looking to increase my collection. I am thinking of getting a BP and possibly another corn. Anyway, I have a few questions.

    1. If I were to get a rack system type thing and have 4 shelves. Am I able to hosue each snake in it's own tub?

I also realize I'd need two tempature controls for each species. And I kinda figured out how to wire flexwatt from online.

    2. If I had tubs that were big enough for an adult female python, can I still keep the corns in similar sized tubs? Keep in mind they are hatchlings now, I mean if I have to fabricate some sort of lid out of small holed wire I could.

    3. I've found the size of tubs needed/suggested for adult corns, what are the suggested sizes for adult bps?

I do plan on putting a baby bp in an adult sized tub, I'll have plenty of hides, or will figure away to divide it off for the time being.

    4. I'd be looking to build the rack with the help of my fiance, however, when I try to do the numbers (figure out the measurements) I am completely lost. I mean I can ask someone at Lowes or Home Depot on measurements, but what is the suggested gap between the top of the rubbermaid to the bottom of the shelf above for a bp? I hope that made sense. Better yet if someone has drawings/measurements floating around online that would help too.

Since the other 3 shelves will be housing corns, I can see if that the BP shelf is made slightly bigger or whatnot.

Anyway I think that's all the questions for now. Thanks all in advance for the replies!

    Re: Caging I guess...

You could build you rack in such a way that it could hold either one larger tub per shelf or two smaller ones. I think the tolerance for BP's is no more than 1/8 inch gap, not sure for corns as they are little pencil sticks when they are babies. Here's a few links for build it yourself racks and one from a forum thread here about rack building that I keep in my favorites list.
