Can female lay eggs without male

Okay, this is probably a stupid question but I've looked at several seemingly reputable places online and seen several different answers.

Can a female bp, not directly exposed to a male, lay a slug? I've had my female for several years and today found something that looks surprisingly egg-like with her poop. It may just be urates but it's very uniform in shape, yellow-ish and shiny. My male is in a separate cage and separate room and they haven't been exposed to one another.

I've only heard of 2 "females" being housed together and producing eggs

Too many boas to list and a few balls as well

They can retain sperm from a prior breeding. I have heard of females producing a viable clutch even though they had not been bred since the season before.

That said, I don't think that is the case with yours. Mainly because it sounds like your girl has never seen a male.

A female can clutch out all slugs without ever seeing a male before. However they will ALL be slugs. Very rare.....but has happened.
