I just can't believe people

As a few have found out I got my first bite at a local pet store. some thing happened while i was there that the more i think about it the more frustrated I get. this lady came in with her kids and they were looking at the snakes as i previously mentioned this store has a bumble bee and the guy that works there was getting ready to feed her and asked if we wanted to stick around and watch. Well this lady started talking about her ball python and how hes was having trouble shedding. Like anyone else would I asked her what her humidity was, she said she wasn't sure. I then asked her how she measured her temps humidity and such. She told me she used one of those stick on type (cringe) I very nicely informed her that through experience those type are highly inaccurate, and told her about the accu-rite where to get one and the price she totally blew me off, and told me that "it says its 80 and they have to be right" so I could tell there was no way she would listen and began to walk away.
she followed and strunk another dicussion about feeding and she asked if I feed live, F\t, or pre killed. I told her that i feed live but they are stunned before and i supervise the whole session until properly constricted. To my dismay she proceded to tell me how she just throws the mouse in there and lets it run around. Once again knowing the horrors that can lead to I informed her of the dangers and agin I got blown off like some idiot.
I wanted to be rude but thats not my nature so I let her know where she could get a care sheet (here of course) and told her there was some really good info, and left. Sorry its so long I had to vent, I love my snakes and feel very passionate about all animals and feel they should be taken care of properly.

trust me i know how you feel.if i correct people on how to properly care for their pets, they blow me off. i guess they dont believe me because they think im "just a kid that doesn't know anything".

Exactly, it kinda hurts though because I don't like to think there is an animal being neglected. I want to know all I can but, some people just don't care I guess.

they dont care plus they think it's just "some dumb animal" so of course they're not gonna take the time to reasearch on how to care for them.

but... in her defense... there's nothing wrong with feeding live. i do it every week.

I think what she meant was that the mouse just runs around, and he lady leaves it, im sure that you are responcible about how you feed.

you try to be nice and courteous by helping someone, and in return they blow you off in a rude manner, leaving you to wonder why you even bothered to help them in the first place

Yeah her temps are probably way off, but I have to back up the feeding live thing. If done right, there is nothing wrong with doing it.

I hate to see people who think they know how to care for a snake, and then it dies of no food, too low/high heat, or anything else that could have been prevented. Those people drive me crazy!

That sort of thing makes me so ! Why does it seem people (in general) are so damn ignorant? For example I went into my local (VERY rubbish) reptile shop yesterday and the dialogue went as follows (for reference i was trying to decide wether or not to move chloe up a prey size).

Me - 'Hi, can i see the size of your weaner rats please?'
Owner - 'What are you trying to feed, how long is it?'
Me - 'Erm a royal python, she is about 2.5ft and about this around (gestures with hands)'
Owner - 'It doesn't matter how fat they are, its how long they are which decides what they can eat'
Me - 'Some very experienced royal python breeders tell me its there girth thats important'
Owner - 'There wrong, here she should be able to eat this medium size mouse'

I decided not to challenge her as she has several bp's in the same cages, all with no hides and with stuck shed.... so enough said.
