    Question Curly whiskers??

After so long of being on paper towels it was time to clean the cage today for mama and babies.
I looked over the pups and saw that all are growing a nice coat of tan hair but one out of the bunch has less hair then the rest and it's whiskers are curled, could he have worms, mange, or is sick or something?

I tried to get photos but they don't want to show up on my POS camera.

    Amy advice would be welcome.

I'm really not to worried if this could mean that it might die. I will just freeze it and worry about the live ones then.

    Thanks for your help
    Jess

I think I read that hairless rats have a little bit of fuzz and curly whiskers - so maybe you have a hairless rat.

    Re: Curly whiskers??

rex rats and hairless rats have curly whiskers.....I used to breed them both. You won't be able to tell if they'rew gonna be hairless quite yet, as starnge as it may seem, hairless babies have the same short thin fur as other rats do until later, when they lose their hair.

    Re: Curly whiskers??

Well every one has a nice coat of tan hair but this little guy is as bald as a cue ball. (not the forum's Cue Ball LOL ) he still looks like a new born pink despite the wiskers, big chunky body, big ears and eye slits. all of the rats I guess come from a long line of hairless, and the sister to the mother had out of 12 babies 5 hairless and the weenling pups were as bald as the day they were born. Funny looking little turkeys!

yeah it is the only thing that keeps them from sneezing and having red watery eyes. Every one is on it. I put it throught the shreder and shook everything out to make sure there was not dust. I use a soft but not too soft pattern/die free/dust free/ towel the the military provides in the hospital and TMCs (Troup Medical Clinic)

So far *knocks on wood* the sneezing has stoped and every ones eyes have cleared up.
