    Unhappy Sad goodbye

Well, this past weekend we dropped our rescue burm off at the Texas Reptile Expo, with Bonnie, the lady who runs it. She said we can call to check up on it and find out what it's sex is in a couple of weeks.
I'm so glad we found it such a wonderful home, but my goodness we already miss it! It's worse for my husband, he got really attached. It was a great experience though, we know a lot more about burms than we ever thought we would! hahaha

    Wook at that sweet face!

I'm so sorry, I know how easy it is to get attached even though you swear you won't. That is a wonderful picture. What beautiful pinks and yellows. The eye reminds me of a marble. Just beautiful!

Are you considering a burmese in the future now?

Awwww....I can imagine how much you miss him. But I'm glad it's a story with a happy ending! When I opened the thread, I was afraid I was going to read about the death of a beloved pet! So....a sad-happy goodbye!

Oh no, we actually did discuss it and decided we just don't want the responsibility that comes with a full grown, healthy burm. Cleaning up after any animal with a shovel just doesn't appeal to either of us, lol.

    Thanks Holly

Judy, yeah, I should have put bittersweet instead of sad. Didn't mean to give anyone a fright!

i'm so happy to read this thread sarah! that totally rocks!!!

wouldn't it be nice if we could keep these majestic snakes but then have another place to drop them off once they are too big... kinda like the place where you could drop off your kids when they drive you crazy.

or that place where you can send husbands, mother-in-laws or nosey neighbours

    just kidding...

What would be perfect is if there were boarding stables for giant snakes, kinda like we have for horses. That's the only way I would have a horse, too!
