Wow, they really do get angry when in shed...

I had heard that ball pythons may get angry if you go near them during the shedding process and I experienced it first hand the other day. I lifted up the hide in my tank to check if my BP had shed yet and it started hissing very loud at me so I let down the hide. My snake is extremely calm so I wasn't expecting that but I now know that they really don't want to be bothered.

Re: Wow, they really do get angry when in shed...

I'm sure the shedding process isn't terribly comfortable for a snake and with their sight likely compromised a bit (not that they are big sight hunters but still), well it just makes sense that they'd rather hide until the whole deal is over with and not be bothered by us.
