the red axanthics seem brighter to me, imo there's more of a contrast

    Re: Difference Between Axanthics?

    Kizerk,

Axanthics are recessive (think similar genetics to an Albino) and Het. Red Axanthics are Co-Dominant (think similar to a Pastel). The Het. Red Axanthic is equivalent to a Pastel and the Red Axanthic is equivalent to a Super Pastel.

When Red Axanthics hatch, they are silver, black and white (like Axanthics), but have a strange pattern. There is usually a black back, with a thin silver stripe in it and the side "alien heads" look like bullseyes. As a Red Axanthic grows the silver turns to tan and the black turns to burgundy.

Het. Reds are very different as adults than when they hatch.

Shoot me an email and I can send you to photos of Red Axanthics and Het. Red Axanthics.

    Take Care,
