    *Sigh* Picky picky

So Fridays are dinner night for everyone. I went ahead and offered my new additions food on the off chance they decided to eat.
The 'live' supplier I found was out of rats this week so I had to purchase the few I needed at Petco (Spending 40 in rats is not my idea of spiffness let me tell ya).
One girl refused and I wasn't suprised since I was told she probably would.
The other two refused as well but seemed very interested.
SO, after quite awhile I pulled out the rats and popped in the last two live mice I had.

    They looooved the mice.

    *sigh*
    They just gotta be picky.

On the other hand I now have extra girls for my small breeder colony. I picked up a little masked girl there simply cause she was cute, the rest are all lab albino rats.

All of mine will except these three evidently. One I knew going in was a die hard rat eater, the other two I was told have fed on both but they were said to prefer rats. Evidently that is not the case.
AND I have one little new boy who refuses mice but adores rat pinks...guess what was not available? Yep.

I really shouldn't complain, out of my entire lot these are just the few picky ones that I have.

A lovely reason to breed your own rats....lots of sizes at hand when you need them lol. I have a couple of die hard mouse eaters too and I am holding back on breeding mice for them since I really can't stand the smell of mice unfortunately. Have you checked around for a local herp group? You might find a member there that will sell you some feeders for a lot better price than PetCo.
